DESCRIPTION: "Meadowshine Cottage" is full of charm with wide pumpkin pine flooring, plenty of screened windows for fresh mountain air. The perfect Winter residence for skiing in the area, enjoying winter, and the quentissential Christmas Cottage. Other seasons are full of hiking, biking, canoing, music festivals, and exploring of nearby charming towns of Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis, Todd and West Jefferson. 1:45 minutes to the mountain city of Asheville. Nice quality fresh bedding and towels throughout. Gated deck if there are little children. A few easy steps into the house. Hammocks, grill, Far-Infrared sauna, deep old fashioned claw foot tub. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of work, hang out space. Covered front and back porches with a comfy porch swing in the front and hammock in the back. 4 miles from town. 2 queen size beds with good mattresses, 2.5 baths. Fireplace and propane central heat. Open 2 story ceiling in Living Room for a spacious feel. Overall, a cozy, unpretentious mountain cottage with all the comforts you need for an enjoyable stay including a yoga/exercise room to continue your routine or develop a new one. Very nice yoga studio in town as well as pool, and gyms. On a level 2 acres, grassy yard bordered by rhododendrons, flower beds and an organic garden in season. Up a short 1/4 mile moderately steep gravel road with 5 other houses along the way. All wheel drive is recommended for snowy or icy weather. The neighborhood is quiet and the house and yard have a secluded feeling. We are long time residents of the area, love to explore new places and stay awhile to really get a feel for the region. Clean, nonsmokers, friendly and respectful of other's homes. METROPOLITAN AREA: Boone is a natural destination town because of the location, off of the Blue Ridge Parkway so there is plenty of beauty to explore by car or hiking. Busy little downtown with an interesting mix of shops and restaurants not too hard on the budget since it is a University town. Blowing Rock is an upscale very charming mountain town situated on the continental divide and is 8 miles away.
