The three bedrooms are upstairs. The master bedroom has a queen bed, a private deck, and a separate bathroom with a shower and a large jacuzzi tub. Of the two other bedrooms, one has a queen bed and the other a twin bed. A second bathroom on this floor has a shower and tub. All the bedrooms have large closets and lots of windows. A third bathroom with shower is off of the laundry room downstairs.

This is our primary residence, and it is fully stocked with everything one might need - in the kitchen, cooking and serving equipment; linens and towels; in the family room, toys (especially Legos, puzzles, and board games), DVDs, a Wii with 4 remote controls; in the living room, stereo, TV, and DVD player; sports equipment for the basketball court (including soccer balls, basketballs, etc.); a gas grill and dining area on the patio, etc. If there's something you want and you don't see it on the list, email me and I'll let you know if we have it. We just moved in last month and we will continually be adding little upgrades - the queen bed in the master bedroom will likely be a king bed by summer, for instance. As we make these changes, we'll update our listing.
Note that while this house is kid-friendly, it is not baby- or toddler-proofed (there are no baby gates on the stairs, cleaning supplies are in unlocked cabinets, etc.) so if you have a very small child, he or she would need supervision.

We are: a business executive, a college professor, and a very athletic and well-behaved elementary school kid. We have lived in the Bay Area - San Francisco, then Berkeley, and now Oakland - for 15 years. We are experienced travelers, but this will be our first home exchange. We speak English and Italian. Our son attends a French/English bilingual school.

METROPOLITAN AREA: San Francisco Bay Area

The location of our home, in the Oakland Hills, is quiet and serene. The property is convenient for visiting San Francisco, the northern California wine country (Napa and Sonoma), Tilden Park, and everything else the Bay Area has to offer. There are many children's play centers nearby. Several parks and civic swim centers have drop-in hours at the pool. If you have children and you want to enroll them in a summer day camp, we can recommend many camps in the area. Great hiking and excellent restaurants are a few minutes away.

PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: France - we are flying into Paris and would like to spend a few days there, but we would prefer the bulk of the time to be outside of the city. We need two bedrooms minimum.

PERIOD OF AVAILABILITY: 1 - 2 weeks in August.
