DESCRIPTION: Our home is a perfect place for relaxing and for entertaining. All floors are granite. The kitchen is totally remodeled. The 30x30 great room opens to a large tiled patio which has a large pool, a built in gas grill and is totally enclosed by a brick wall. There is a child-proof fence that can be erected in a matter of minutes making the pool area safe for small children or pets who haven't learned to dog paddle. In addition to the living/entertaining areas, our home has three bedrooms and two baths, an open-plan kitchen and dining room, a library full of books perfect to take to the beach or to just sit around and read by the pool, an office, a separate laundry room, and a two car garage. We have two autos for exchange, a 2002 Mercedes station wagon (great for hauling chairs and coolers to and from the beach) and a 2009 Smart car (it fits anywhere and, yes, you can drive it on the highways!). I (Bob) am a retired IT executive but very much an active traveller. I have lived not only in Flordia, but also in Switzerland, New York/New England, California, and Washington state. My wife (Teri) is still working, but is looking to retire now so that we can spend many years in one or more new locations. We currently own this home and want to use long term exchanges to "try out" other locations before making a final decision about our new location. METROPOLITAN AREA: Miami/Fort Lauderdale Hollywood is immediately south (15 minutes) of Fort Lauderdale, and about 30 minutes north of South Beach (Miami). It is well known for its beach area (the Broadwalk). We live about 10 minutes west of the beach in a well established residential area called Hollywood Hills, equidistant between I95 and the Florida Turnpike. PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: Provence, Tuscany, California (near ocean or in Wine Country), Santa Fe, Austin, open to others PERIOD OF AVAILABILITY: Open, but prefer a longer term exchange (up to one year)
