There is a small desert park nearby for morning walks. The magnificent Organ Mountain range is only Born in Germany, I am recently widowed and a retired marketing manager in the computer industry. I have close friend, a widow and former language teacher, originally from Ecuador who has her own home nearby. We will travel together. METROPOLITAN AREA: Las Cruces is a medium size city in the southern part of New Mexico, about 50 miles from the mexican border. Approx. 300 miles south of Santa Fe and 300 miles from Tucson, Arizona.
Las Cruces, with a population of about 80,000, is the second largest city in New Mexico. The New Mexico State University is located here. Agriculture is still a major component of the area with large pecan orchards, cotton and chili pepper plantations being important products. PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland. Italy. PERIOD OF AVAILABILITY: We are very flexible and can make our home available almost anytime.
