This is our second home. We live in New Jersey near our family. We have recently retired.

METROPOLITAN AREA:

The house is located within 1/2 mile of two sandy beaches: one is a free beach and has no amenities, the other is $2 and has changing rooms and showers. Both beaches are ideal for kids.

Nearby: Pemaquid Lighthouse and art museum, the old fort, picnic areas, acquarium, lobster pound, fresh fish, clams and mussels. Damariscotta and Newcastle, the twin towns at the head of the river are the nearby business districts. Boothbay Harbor, Rockland and Camden 30-45 minutes away. Bar Harbor is about 2 hours. All of them having dining and shopping.

There is breathtaking scenery everywhere. This is typical Maine coast -- rocks, salt air and lighthouses.

Ferry to Monhegan Island.

PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: France Sept or Oct 2010; England or Italy 2011. Other places: San Francisco, someplace warm in the winter, the southwest USA, or make a suggestion.

PERIOD OF AVAILABILITY: May 1 to October 31. Any number of weeks. Non-synchronous preferred.
