Asilah is a Moroccan town of about 20,000 frequented by Moroccan and European tourists in July and August, quiet and small town for the rest of the year. It hosts a large arts festival during the first two weeks of August. There is a 15th century medina surrounded by an ancient Portugese wall, a fishing harbor, large bazaar and weekly souq. 10 minute walk to wide unending beach.

METROPOLITAN AREA: Tangier

Asilah is close to Tangier and many lovely beaches. You'll love strolling around town, eating at the open air terrace restaurnts, buying fresh, inexpensive fruits and vegetables The main train line can take you from Asilah. to Rabat, Fes, Marrakesh, hike along the rocky cliff and listen to the crashing surf, visit Lixus, a partially excavated Phoenician/Roman town. Hire a horsecart for a tour of local villages or a trip to 40 kilometer Rumillets Beach at the bottom rugged cliffs.
