The complex has swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis courts and a walking path nearby. The home is tastefully decorated and has computer access, wireless, big-screen TV. The two carpeted bedrooms are upstairs, along with the bath. Downstairs are the living room, dining area, kitchen and patio with table and chairs. The kitchen has a dishwasher and full-sized refrigerator. Washer and drier, and car are also available. It's centrally located, so you can easily explore the area.

We are two newspaper editors nearing retirement. We have four grown children and five grandchildren. We love travel, theater, walking, golf and the arts. We are non-smokers.

METROPOLITAN AREA: Los Angeles

Orange County beaches are a short drive away. Downtown Los Angeles with its theater, music, art museums and comedy is about a 20-minute drive north in moderate traffic. There are many nearby tourist attractions, including Disneyland, Knott's Berry farm (5 minutes away), Universal Studios. Famous South Coast Plaza shopping center is about a 20 minute drive south. Museums in the surrounding area include: Getty Center, Getty Villa, LA County Art Museum, Norton Simon Museum, Orange County Art Museum, Bowers Museum and the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens. Dozens of golf courses are open year round. The weather here is temperate all the time. You will need a jacket most evenings and sometimes on winter days, but rarely would need a winter coat.

PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: Rome, Florence, Paris, Madrid or London (or nearby) exchange in August, September or October of 2010.
