DESCRIPTION:
Our Beautiful restored home, stands in wonderful gardens with lots of different types of plants and trees making it very aesthetically pleasing. The star of the show in the garden is the beautifully fragrant lavender garden. A large area planted with an abundance of lavender bushes. There is also a terraced seating area ideal for relaxing and listening to the sound of silence. (This house is situated in one of the most peaceful places you will ever have been to!) You enter the house through double doors into the living room which has a very traditional, cosy feel whilst still being contemporary and spacious. There are comfortable sofas and a log burning stove. The floors are tiled and the walls are painted in a warm gold colour which adds to the cosy feel. Parts of the walls have an exposed stone effect on them. There are 2 double and one twin bedroom plus a double sofa bed in lounge if required.

METROPOLITAN AREA: Campos

Beaches Es Trenc is reputedly the best beach on the island, and worth a visit. Here, 4 kilometres of beach are backed by sand dunes and natural bush land, with hardly a hotel complex in sight. Like all the popular beaches on the island it becomes busy in the height of the summer. Nearby the quieter beaches of Sa Rapita and Ses Covetes (in the same bay) are less well known, but just as beautiful.Cala Mondrago is in fact two beautiful interlinked coves not far from Santanyi. The beach is situated amongst a national park and on the far side beach has picnic areas and a children’s adventure playground, while the near beach is a lot quieter. Beautiful clear water and a sandy beach attract the occasional yacht, mooring in the natural harbour for the day. You will have to park in the nature reserve car park and walk to the beach.Cala Santanyi is close to the town. A beautiful sandy bay protected by cliffs looks out onto clear blue waters. There are a couple of hotels and several beach restaurants and also a diving school. Ideal for children, you can hire out beds and sun umbrellas and the car park is right at the side of the beach.Cala Llombards Cala Llombards is another cove just past Ses Salinas. The beach is similar to Santanyi without the hotels and restaurants, although there is a very decent bar restaurant with two friendly parrots. Sun umbrellas and sun beds are available but you will not find any public conveniences at the beach. Local AreaCAMPOSCampos which is 4km away, is a busy agricultural town which livens up on market days every Thursday and Saturday morning. It is a friendly place with a smattering of interesting shops, restaurants and reputably the best bakery on the island. SANTANYISantanyi, a sleepy town that has become cosmopolitan due to the insurgence of foreign buyers, is a mixture of traditional with interior designer boutiques and international restaurants, is 10km away. Santanyi twice weekly markets, Wednesday and Saturday held in the towns square, offer many hand crafted jewellery, flower, fresh local produce and leather goods stalls. Arrive early to get a seat in one of the many cafes or restaurants lining the square if you just want to people watch.SES SALINESThis area takes its name from the local salt flats and ponds where many bird watchers gather in the spring to see the migrants on the way north from Africa. The town has several good restaurants and located on the fringe is a 15 hectare botanic garden, Botanicactus, specialising in cacti. PORTO PETROMost people just pass through Porto Petro on their way to other places but it is worth stopping here, if only for a coffee in one of the cafes near the marina. This was one of the first resorts on the East Coast and has not expanded greatly.PORTO COLOMNamed after Christopher Columbus, who was supposedly born here, this is a quieter resort and has still kept its charm as a quaint fishing village. There are many restaurants and bars especially in the square in the main centre. There are a couple of little coves with beautiful clear waters suitable for swimming.CALA D’ORThis is one of the largest towns on the East Coast. The development has brought all the facilities and water sports that you could ask for and there is also a pretty marina, harbouring some very prestigious yachts and some excellent seafood restaurants. The sandy coves are also very good here but do get a little crowded in the height of summerPALMA THE CAPITAL CITY The city of Palma became the capital of the Balearic Islands in 1983. It is said that it was named after the dozens of palm trees imported from Africa by the Arabs. It has a population of approx 300, 000 almost half the population of the island.Palma is a vibrant, cultural and cosmopolitan capital city. It is sometimes referred to as ‘Little Barcelona’ with its historical buildings, Cathedral, seafront and harbour, and abundance of excellent restaurants and bars. There are a number of prestigious art galleries and museums, as well as venues for open air concerts. The shopping centre has something for everyone, from chic designer labels to the Rastrillo being the Saturday flea market. The city night life kicks off late and goes on into the early hours of morning.Randa, this flat topped hill in the centre plain, is known as the holy mountain. It has three sanctuaries, the oldest of which, the monastery of Nuestra Senora de Cura, was founded in 1275. The library holds collections of old music books, missals and medieval manuscripts. The museum is opened to visitors who must attract attention by pulling on a bell on the hour between 10:00 and 13;00 hours then again between 16:00 and 18:00 hours. A bar restaurant is open throughout the year but is closed on Mondays. From the large terraces there are panoramic views. It is said that 32 towns and villages can be seen on a clear day. Ses Salines is probably the best conserved area ecologically speaking in the district. This is due to a large part of the area belonging to only one family who look after it with great dedication. The old part of the town is very interesting where one can find an important prehistoric excavation, a church and a tower, some buildings conserving their typical village style. A small church also exists but needs urgent restoring and until this is completed it has to remain closed. Delicious Tapas (a variety of traditional food on small dishes), or tasty filled bread rolls with a country flavour can be savoured. Its festivals are of significant interest and attract thousands of people each yearSes Salines point is the most southerly place on the island with fantastic views of Cabrera and meandering cliff side walks that take you to beautiful sandy beaches and coves. S'Alqueria Blanca is an enchanting place. It’s church with parochial centre, & the square in the village being the centre of social activity with the market on Tuesdays. The town’s restaurants and bars offer the visitor some of the best in the region.Colonia Sant Jordi; was until recently a little fishing village. Today it’s a flourishing tourist town. Principal attractions are the unbeatable beaches that surround it, possibly the best on the island; the Salt mines and port have been there since roman times. In some of the restaurants one can enjoy freshly caught fish and seafood from Cabrera. Worth mentioning are the exhibitions organized regularly in the Matisos Gallery; to have a drink and listen to music one should visit the Tramontana; its setting is unbeatable for enjoying the sunsets.
