- Gordon is a retired social service administrator; interests include tennis, golf and hiking.
- We are both avid travellers and especially enjoy home exchanges, which allow access to meeting local persons, culture and events. We have successfully achieved over 35 home exchanges. Besides personal and cultural advantages, cost savings due to the depleted US dollar are appreciated.
METROPOLITAN AREA:
- Portland is a 3 hour drive to Seattle, which features 1 1/2-hour ferry service to Victoria BC, Canada's most popular destination.
- Mt. Hood is 1 1/2 hour drive and features world class skiing. USA olympic skiing team practice there.
- Desert is also a 1 1/2 drive as is the Pacific Ocean.
- Along with a stay at the world-class Oregon Gardens Resort special these attractions are close by:
1. Silvercreek Falls is a popular hiking state park where you can walk behind the falls.
2. Mt. Angel Abbey is also nearby where Vespers is sung at 5:00 pm and you are welcome to walk around their scenic gardens. The Abbey's ecumenical library is cited as one of the most outstanding architectual buildings in Oregon.
- Wilsonville is in the Willamette Valley which features nation's leading nursery, wine and fruit growers.
PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: France, Italy, Victoria BC, Hawaii, Palms Springs, Sedona, and Washington DC. Local Oregon exchanges have been convenient and a nice change of pace.
We travel alone and occasionally travel with another senior couple.
