Judy is a CPA (certified public accountant) with her own business. Thom is a man of many talents, a builder, a mechanic, a bookkeeper, a bicycle enthusiast. We finished building this house and a larger house (which is rented) on the same lot in October, 2006. We did all of the finish work ourselves. Thom made all of the cabinets, window and door trim, etc. and Judy did the tile work in the kitchen and bathroom. We actually live in a different house outside of Santa Fe (about 15 miles south of town), and we use this casita as our little townhouse and go into town to spend the weekends. So this does not have to be a simultaneous exchange for us.

METROPOLITAN AREA: Albuquerque

Beautiful mountain hiking just 10 minutes away (by car). Many cultural and musical events during the summer and autumn months. A great base from which to explore more of New Mexico and the American Southwest. We are a day's drive away from the Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Chaco Canyon, or Carlsbad Caverns. Santa Fe is at an altitude of about 7,000 ft (about 2200 m.) Summer weather is usually very nice, warm during the day and cool at night. Winter weather is somewhat unpredictable, but we do have snow. Santa Fe Ski Basin is about 1/2 hour drive and Taos is about 2 to 2 1/2 hr drive. Christmas here is beautiful!

PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: Especially interested in Paris (anytime) and other European cities. Also interested in Latin America. Always interested in anyplace with scuba diving. Open to many other areas also.

PERIOD OF AVAILABILITY: Our house is available all year for a non-simultaneous exchange.
