The house is located about ten minutes from the I-17 freeway that goes north to Flagstaff, Sedona, Prescott and south to downtown Phoenix. Another ten minutes to the west is the 101 loop freeway that goes south to the Glendale Arena (recently renamed Jobbing.com Arena)where many concerts and events take place. The Cardinals Stadium (now University of Phoenix Stadium) hosts many sporting events such as the 2008 Super Bowl. This is our second home and was most recently rented by our 25 year old son who left to join the Army as a tank commander. We were able to repaint and modernize it while he was there to now use as a vacation rental and house to exchange as well as one for the kids and grandkids to use when they visit.

My husband, Charles, is an Administrative Law Judge with the state of Arizona. I am a retired high school special ed teacher who now teaches part-time at Arizona State University's West campus in Glendale which is very close to own home in northwest Glendale. We have three grown children, one of whom just had our first grandchild in LaJolla, Ca, so we are very interested in exchanging in the San Diego area.

METROPOLITAN AREA: 20 minutes from downtown Phoenix

There are many interesting things to do in and around our town. Glendale has become somewhat of an antique captial with all of its quaint little shops. There is a wonderful park for kids just up the street on 59th Ave. An award winning public tennis facility is within five miles. There are three zoos within the area and many museums such as the Heard Museum and the Botanical Gardens to name some favorites for visitors. Lake Pleasant, that offers boating and sailing year round, is a half hour drive away. There are many local theater companies as well as a Broadway Series offered at Arizona State University's Tempe campus. Skiing in Flagstaff is only two hours away and it's only three hours to ski in Sunrise in the beautiful area of Pinetop. Another five hour drive will land you in Las Vegas, Nevada.
