DESCRIPTION: Comfortable home for 8+ guests. Very family friendly. Two story colonial built in 1925. Third floor walk-up attic is 5th bedroom. Large living,dining,kitchen and family rooms. Two full baths, basement with laundry/play area, and driveway/2 car garage, deck and fenced private back yard. Bicycles, bus system or car exchange available for transportation. We have a 2002 Chevrolet Venture 7 passenger van and a 2nd vacation home on the Lake Michigan shoreline we can exchange. We are a family with two children at home (Age 16 son and Age 11 daughter). We live in the home year round, but spend much time at a second vaction home on Lake Michigan (also available for exchange/rental). METROPOLITAN AREA: Detroit Royal Oak is a north/central Detroit suburb built 1920 - 1950. Royal Oak is known as a center for dining, arts and entertainment for Detroit area. Detroit is the automobile capital of the world with headquarters for General Motors, Ford and DaimlerChrysler. Annual Woodward Dream Cruise (Sat. Aug. 19)draws +1 million visitors for classic car weekend cruising and viewing. Detroit famous for great music (Motown, Jazz, Classical, Hiphop) and as a multicultural center with diverse populations (Afro, Arab, Armenian, Asian,Latin, European).Michigan is known for Great Lakes beaches (I've traveled a lot and I believe these are the most beautiful/least known beaches in the world), lighthouses, shipwrecks, boating, fishing, water sports, cycling, U.S. summer golf capital, hunting, winter sports. Drive time to Chicago is 4 hours/Toronto and Niagara Falls is 5 hours.
