Our 100sq.m. 4-room apartment is not fancy, but is very comfortable. It is the rear portion of my own house (the front is occupied by a friend & has completely separate entrance, bath & quarters) with a carport, nice yard and small lanai (porch). There are two complete bathrooms each with shower; kitchenette with big fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, crock pot, bread maker, convection oven, blender, (no range or stove). Queen size bed in downstairs bedroom; a queen-size sofa-bed in upstairs guest room; and small observation deck on roof. Generally cool. Beautiful nights for sleeping, days for napping. VCR, DVD, 2 TVs, on-line computer (Windows XP w. hi-speed cable internet connection); CD, cassette, radio players; Weather Service Marine Forecast radio, 2 acoustic guitars, 2 ukulele, piano (almost in tune), etc. Neighbors on both sides are close and usually quiet.

Available for use are my 4 single kayaks, a big double kayak (all kayaks sit-on-top), recumbent bike, 2 mountain bikes, snorkel gear, 93 Toyota Camry wagon with carrier for kayaks, plus a 92 Camry sedan. Additional rental bikes & kayaks nearby - as are surfboard and windsurf rentals; and kite surfing lessons. You fly into Kahului, Maui, Hawaii, USA airport; 25 min. from house. Likely a friend can meet you at the airport with the Camry wagon. Or, we may be willing to be here a few days at the beginning of your visit to help you get settled (we can sleep on futon). My wife Eva & I are retired educators, still rather physically active, non-smokers.

PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: Switzerland or Ireland or New Zealand or Northern Italy near Sarner Valley (Sartol) or Bolzen : In Switzerland, near Sarner See & Sarnen & nearby countryside. In Ireland in the Cork area, we want to connect w. traditional music sessions & a tin whistle (& possibly bodhran) class, seminar or teacher; visit the coast line - especially Sherkin Island; bus or train or drive (on the left - help?) to surrounding areas, walk trails, visit Cork (possibly theater), etc. (We drive on the right in Hawaii & the rest of the USA)

HOME EXCHANGE AVAILABILITY: Summers are best, but will consider NZ in your summer (our winter).
