DESCRIPTION: Lake Tahoe at its best, this classic "Old Tahoe" lodge overlooks the lake in historic Brockway, on Stateline Point, fully updated in 2019. It features a great room with massive fireplace, large modern kitchen, family/TV room, five bedrooms (sleeps 10-12) with four en suite baths, powder room and laundry. It has 1200 square feet of lake view decks, including shared decks for each bedroom and a lake-view hot tub. there is a lake view from nearly every room. The house is sited on Tahoe's only peninsula, bisected by the state line, below the highway. Brockway Hot Springs, adjacent to the house, features a large private lakeside pool, tennis courts, pier and clubhouse. Nevada gaming, gourmet dining and entertainment are three blocks away, and it is a short walk to beautiful Speedboat beach with a quarter mile of sand and rocky islands to explore. Eleven golf courses are minutes away (including Brockway's own course) and the ski shuttle to NorthStar and Squaw stops two blocks away. We are a retired professional couple from the San Francisco Bay Area. We are well traveled and have exchanged numerous times. METROPOLITAN AREA: San Francisco, Reno, Nevada. Brockway Hot Springs was one of the first places developed on the lake, in 1869, and became a popular hideaway for celebrities and the financial elite from the 1940s to 1970. America's first casino hotel, the Cal-Neva Lodge is two blocks away (once owned by Frank Sinatra and currently being renovated by Larry Ellison). Kings Beach is a half mile away with every water activity you could imagine, and the house is within a half hour of some of America's best skiing and golf--the closest are minutes away. The house is private, quiet and serene, yet close to everything PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: Hawaii, Mexico, Europe, California coast, open to offers.
