Our 2100 sq. ft home is designed for comfort and family fun. There are two floors plus a sleeping loft on the third floor. We have three bedrooms (one king, one queen and 2 twin beds) in addition to a sleeping loft with three trundle beds that can sleep an additional 6 people. The sitting room off of the master suite also has a queen sleeper sofa. We have 2.5 bathrooms. Our home is equipped with all of the modern conveniences including a washer and dryer. The kitchen is outfitted for 16 and is stocked with all of the basics. We have a microwave, dishwasher and all the kitchen appliances and gadgets to make cooking away from home hassle free. A wood stove heats our home along with central gas heating and our driveway is plowed by a service so you can easily drive into the two-car garage during the winter months. We have four decks for enjoying the fresh mountain air and cool evenings or watching the chipmunks play along with the deer that stroll by during the warm weather months.

We have televisions with DVD players in each bedroom as well as a large flatscreen TV in the great room. You will find a collection of videos, CD's, books, games and puzzles for kids of all ages. We also have wireless broadband internet access and a fax machine.

Our home is decorated in a comfortable mountain style. It has slate floors in the dining room, kitchen and bathrooms in additiion to the showers. The kitchen countertops are made of granite and all woodwork and cabinetry is sugar pine. All linens are provided.

Truckee, "The Gateway to the Sierra," has something for everyone. One of our treasured historical landmarks is the Donner Memorial Park, a memorial to the ill-fated Donner Party and the Immigrant Trail Museum. A stroll along Truckee’s turn-of-the-century Commercial Row will fill you with images of Truckee’s wild west history while providing you with a wide array of fine restaurants, quaint boutiques, distinctive shops and fine art galleries all surrounded by beautiful mountains and lakes that provide a recreational wonderland. Truckee is a mecca for the recreational enthusiast. The close proximity to Lake Tahoe and the largest concentration of ski resorts in North America, it entertains skiers and winter sports enthusiasts from around the world. Summer visitors enjoy the many hiking trails, water sports and lake activities. Donner Lake is just three miles down the road with a private beach available to our guests where there are canoes, paddleboats, kayaks and sailboats for rent along with a lakeside snack cafe. In the warm months, the Truckee River is full of river rafters gliding down the river enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery. You may, however, wish to simply sit back and enjoy the beauty of our mountains over a glass of California wine.

We are a married couple in mid 60's and both consultants with flexible schedules allowing us to travel frequently. We have lived in Europe and Asia and are well traveled. We enjoy learning about other cultures and getting to know people in different parts of the world. We often travel with another couple. We have had successful exchanges in Australia, Costa Rica, The U.S. Virgin Islands (St. John), Hawaii, Florida, Mexico, the Cayman Islands and California's Sonoma Coast. We are always respectful of the homes of others and would treat your home as if it were our own.

When it comes to snow, the Lake Tahoe area is the best place to find it. In fact, Lake Tahoe receives more average snowfall than any other winter sports destination in North America...no less than an average of 30 feet per year....well, except for winter of 2014! Fortunately, the storms move through quickly, leaving blue skies and sunshine so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery. Reno has an international airport for easy access in and out of the Tahoe basin. We are approximately one hour (depending on weather and road conditions)to South Lake Tahoe with its many gaming and entertainment venues.

PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: Open to all offers....tempt us! We would be very interested in Europe, NW Florida and long weekend California getaways.
