DESCRIPTION: Two-storey house (200mq) situated in the countryside outside Chiusi (2 km. from town-centre, with various shops and facilities - car is indispensable), within a biological farm with eight hectares (20 acres) of land with vineyard, where is produced a very good quality of red Chianti, called "Chianti dei Colli Senesi", 500 olive trees (you can taste the house olive oil - just the famous "Olio extravergine toscano" -) and various other fruit plants and two hectars of wood, which is possible to walk across.
The house - encircled all around by a garden with private swimming pool - stands independent on the top of a hill and it's ideal for those who want to enjoy the peace of the green Tuscany hills all around the house with a beautiful landscape and wide, superb views onto the valleys lying below, mountain tops such as Monte Cetona and small towns of the surrounding area, such as Citta' della Pieve, Chianciano, Cetona and Sarteano.
METROPOLITAN AREA: Firenze (1 hour) - Rome (1-1/2 hours), Italy. Chiusi (altitude: about 400 mt.) is a small town but has an almost unique historical and architectural heritage. Before the Roman conquest, Chiusi was the capital and main centre of the Etruscan State. Remains of its glorious past are visible in its extremely famous and well-preserved necropolis (Etruscan tombs) and the world-wide famous Museum of Etruscan relics. Today Chiusi is part of Tuscany ("Toscana") and is placed halfway between Rome and Florence, both of which can easily be reached just in one hour by car (through the Chiusi-Chianciano Junction on the A1 Rome-Florence highway 5 km from the house) and train (Chiusi station 2 km from the house, on the Rome-Florence line) also in about one hour. From Chiusi Scalo station it is also possible to reach Siena, Perugia e Arezzo with comfortable cross-country trains. Unmissable locations near Chiusi include Chianciano Terme, famous for its baths, a recently opened Etruscan Museum and a lively programme of Summer shows, events and plays; Montepulciano, Medieval and Renaissance village in whose countryside the renowned wine "Nobile di Montepulciano" is produced; Pienza, a true jewel of Renaissance architecture and art, planned by Pope Pius II Piccolomini and Leon Battista Alberti; Monticchiello, yet another wonderful Medieval village; Bagno Vignoni, a unique village with its main square consisting of an ancient bath; Montalcino, Medieval village, where is produced the famous wine "Brunello di Montalcino"; Cortona, an ancient Etruscan location but with important Medieval and Renaissance buildings; the Trasimeno Lake, with its islands, reachable by ferry; the medieval Citta' della Pieve, with frescos by Perugino.
