DESCRIPTION: The theee bedroom and three bathroom house, comfortable but elegant, has a truly breathtaking panoramic view of the Puget Sound and a private deck where you can sit back and watch the sun rise or set. Follow the 50 stairs down to the beach where a gazebo is the perfect place to watch the sunset or birds or take a kayak out into the harbor. A two acre garden is filled with trees and plants that thrill the most ardent gardeners. A new hot tub sits in a Japanese style garden. Hunt for shells on your beach walks. Or just sit back and enjoy the quiet, the solitude, the view of water and sunsets. The house has a master bedroom and bathroom that looks out on a garden with a queen bed. A walk out basement overlooks the ocean and has a full bath, one large room with a queen bed and wrap around couch and a smaller room with a double bed. fully equipped kitchen, separate dining room and a living room with a wood burning stove. This island is a hidden secret that will have you coming back year after year. My parents built this home in the 70's because they wanted to garden year around. Although I live in Denver, I try to spend many weeks during the summer and other time at Vashon when I am able to do so. METROPOLITAN AREA: Seattle, Washington This jewel of an island is located a quick 20 minute ferry boat ride from Seattle but is a paradise getaway from the bustle of life. Identified as one of the top summer vacation spots, Vashon Island has fishing, biking, kayaking, horse back riding and hiking for the athletes and art galleries, book stores, free concerts and a movie house for those who enjoy the arts. Frequent ferries take you to Seattle and its many urban delights, including Pike Street Market, the Art Museum, the Seattle Library and the Space Needle. PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: There is much of the world that I long to see. HOME EXCHANGE AVAILABILITY: The house is available for rent during selected summer months and is otherwise available year round for swapping or rent. RENTAL AVAILABILITY: The house is available for rent year round, although for fewer weeks in the summer than the rest of the year.
RENTAL RATE: Summer Rate (June-September): $1400 per week, plus taxes and cleaning fee, one week minimum. Mid season rate (October-May) $1100 per week, or $175 per night, plus taxes and cleaning, 3 night minimum. Deposit of 50% due on booking, with remainder and $250 deposit due within 30 days prior to arrival. If reservation is canceled prior to 30 days before arrival, deposit fee will be retained. If cancellation is made less than 30 days prior to arrival, no refund will be given. Deposit will be returned 30 days after departure, subject to retention for damage or replacement. Lease agreement will be sent once reservation is made. Cleaning fee of $100 will be added to rental amounts
