DESCRIPTION: Beautiful, 'greek island' style holiday home with very big garden, verandas, situated by the sea on the Sounion coast road, one hour away from the centre of Athens. Features include seven olive trees, cicadas, stray cats, fireplace and outdoor showers to wash the sea salt away or simply to cool down! Saronis is a small seaside resort, the ideal getaway from Athens city life during the hot summer months or a quiet retreat for the winter months. Public transport to Athens and Sounion is every 40mins throughout the year. Apart from the sea, Saronis offers plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes and four open air cinemas showing the latest Hollywood and international releases (not dubbed by the way but with Greek subtitles). This house is for home exchange, rental or bed and breakfast accommodation year round. Visiting the ancient Temple of Poseidon in Sounion, famed for its most memorable sunsets and Lord Byron's carved signature on one of its marble columns (the vandal!) is a recommendation (not forgetting Athens of course).
