The cottage has one bedroom, a den, one bathroom, living room, dining room and kitchen. There is a floor area of approximately 1200 square feet and it sleeps three people. The house has a telephone connection, stereo, central heating, air-conditioning, TV and cable, sofas, freezer, fridge, microwave, dish washer, oven, washing machine and clothes dryer. There is also a garage and room for extra parking. A car is recommended.

My name is Patricia and I am very excited about the idea of traveling in Europe and many other new places. As a single parent of adult children and a recently retired Art Director for McGraw-Hill Publishing Company in New York there was not much free time before now. My father and grandfather were architects and I was fortunate to have gotten my degrees in art as well. I have had many love affairs with the buildings of New York but am anxious to witness the work of the great European masters. At 62, this would make me the luckiest person I know.

I often travel with my daughter, my son and his wifee and have also taken many trips with old and dear friends. I would also enjoy having an extended stay alone if the house or apartment fit one person well. If I can be of any help with your travel arrangements, please let me know.

METROPOLITAN AREA: New York City

My neighborhood is a much sought after suburban town, built in the 1800s, designed as a country getaway for Wall Street foks. It was built with an appreciation of history, displaying plaques designating spots where George Washington led his troops in 1776. The downtown area is a 10 minute walk from the cottage and has many charming gourmet restaurants as well as local sandwich shops. There is a first run movie theater and plenty of interesting clothes, gift and craft stores.

On your days off from galavanting in New York City there is plenty to do in the nearby areas. The well known Short Hills Mall is a 12 minute drive where you can shop in the same designer stores that line New York's fashionable Fifth Avenue. The Atlantic Ocean is less than an hour away offering the beach and surf while you appreciate the local Victorian architecture. Atlantic City, with it's huge gambling casinos and miles of ocean boardwalks is a 3 hour drive. There are ski resorts within 2 hours and hundreds of parks, lakes and rivers throughout the area.

There are also many golf courses open to the public the best of which can be reached in 10 minutes. The house would be a perfect home base to visit many of the beatiful sights and fun attractions the New York metropolitan area offers. It is located a quick 15 minute drive from Newark Liberty International Airport.

PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: I would love a stay in Europe. Especially Italy, France, Greece or I am open to most anywhere an exchange of houses is possible.

HOME EXCHANGE AVAILABILITY: Whenever not in use.

RENTAL AVAILABILITY: The cottage is a second home so it is available whenever not in use.

RENTAL RATE: $2600 per month or $100 per night.
