The resort community of Pagosa Springs is nestled around the San Juan River and famous hot mineral Springs at the river's edge as it meanders through this beautiful valley (elevation 7200 ft) and sheltered by the surrounding mountains peaking at 12,000 ft.

The property is just 5 minutes from the main shopping center with major supermarket, etc. The beautiful view out of the "big glass" end of the great room is the center focus of your enjoyment. This is enhanced by the High Definition TV (Sony flat screen 32") served by HD Satellite w/TIVO. High speed internet is available if you have a Sprint air card, or you can get WIFI or terminal station use at the Library in town. There is a full sized teak desk in the loft, which shares the lake view.

The pictures tell all else. The home is beautiful, comfortable and in a nice accessible location. Also, since the parking is on the main level, and the halls and bathrooms so large, the home is quite friendly for those with limited mobility. There are two steps up from the garage, with automatic door opener. Once inside, there is lots of room to navigate a wheel chair around the main level and master bedroom (bedroom 2, 3, the loft and second bath are up on the second floor.)

METROPOLITAN AREA: Durango, CO

Pagosa Springs has it's historical roots in Native American culture, as the mineral hot springs were highly sought for healing powers. Even today, folks travel from afar to soak in one of the several spas built along the river, now in the center of town. Wolf Creek pass at 12,000 ft. and adjacent ski area by the same name get the most snow in Colorado. In addition to downhill, there is snowmobiling and cross country skiing available. In summer, the weather is awesome and provides a cool break from the heat which bakes most of the southwest. Two historic steam railroads are nearby: Durango & Silverton in Durango CO, and Cumbres & Toltec in Chama NM. Both are a short one hour excursion away. Pat Parelli, noted horse trainer, has his headquarters in Pagosa Springs, only two miles from the cabin. Golf, Tennis, Hiking, mountain biking, motorcycling (on and off road), fishing, river rafting, ballooning... if they do it in the mountains, they do it here.

PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: Western Canada in Summer. Hawaii, Europe in season, Australia, New Zealand, Caribbean any time. Open to offers.

HOME EXCHANGE AVAILABILITY: This is a vacation home, so we are often flexible on timing. Any time of year is beautiful and access roads are very good. In winter months, there have been storms that make driving difficult for a day or two.
