We are two Canadians, husband and wife METROPOLITAN AREA: Guadalajara Ajijic is just 30 minutes from Guadalajara International airport. The area is surrounded by mountains and lies along the shore of Lake Chapala, the largest lake in Mexico. It is a destination for thousands of "snow birds" during the winter months because of its outstanding beauty and climate but many Canadians and Americans live there full-time. This is a very friendly area, with a large variety of activities and clubs to join and enjoy during your stay. It is becoming known for its artistic and literary attractions, as well as musical performances throughout the year.
