DESCRIPTION: Our large house is at 5,000 feet, some 300 m. above the capital city -- a 20-minute drive. It sleeps 8, in three bedrooms and a den. Four bathrooms are downstairs and a 1/2 bath upstairs. Upstairs are also the living room, dining room, library, office and kitchen. The view from the glassed-in balcony, which runs the length of the house, is lovely. A couple live in (in separate quarters). They feed the pets, clean house, and wash the dishes. We usually travel with another couple--so there would be four adults in our party.
Harry is a retired Xerox manager and continues to consult in Central America and the Caribbean. Susan is a former editor at The Tico Times newspaper. METROPOLITAN AREA: San Jose, Costa Rica. There are multiple activities in Costa Rica, rivers for white-water rafting, beaches, cloud forests, national parks, active volcanoes blowing their tops, canals loaded with water birds and beaches where you can watch the giant turtles come in to lay their eggs at night as they have for millions of years.
