DESCRIPTION: The apartment was built in 1933 and still holds its original charm although much renovated. There is a bedroom with attached bathroom and a balcony, a small study, a spacious living room and large kitchen with dining table. There are all modern facilities such as dish washer, washer, TV, DVD, computer with an Internet, etc. A small 4x4 jeep can be included (Suzuki).
I am 54 year old biologist, divorced, father of 4 boys. I am currently on a leave from my job at the Icelandic Institute of Natural History, writing a book on the Ecology of Iceland. Therefore, I am quite flexible re: timing and duration of the exchange, except I like to spend the summer in Iceland photographing. METROPOLITAN AREA: The flat is close to the old Cemetery and within 10 min walk of The Pond (Tjörnin) and down town Reykjavík with lots of restaurants and the main shopping streets. There is a small grocery store on the first floor and major supermarkets within 10 min walk. One of Reykjavik's oldest and most respectable swimming pool is also within 10 min walk PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: France, Italy, Greece, Spain, US/Florida; anywhere warm! PERIOD OF AVAILABILITY: February to May, and September to November 2009
