I am a retired American Foreign Service Officer now university professor and my French-born wife of over 40 years is a former nurse and psychotherapist. Our older daughter, a child psychologist, living in Brighton with her (economist) professor husband and two children (7and 8)would join us for family holidays this Christmas-New Year, 2008-09, along with our daughter and her husband and 14 month old baby from Los Angeles. We have exchanged with friends in Washington, D.C. before and at Huntington Beach south of Los Angeles last year, and we take good care of homes.

METROPOLITAN AREA: London

We are in west London (West Kensington) with beautiful four-storey buildings from 19th century, all food shopping, Indian, Thai, Turkish other restaurants and pubs nearby. Under 5 minutes to Baron's Court tube (subway) with excellent Piccadilly Line direct to airport, theater and movie district, museums, Knightbridge (Harrod's), Covent Garden (opera) and District line to Sloane Square, King's Road, Victoria rail station, bus to High Street Kensington, Portobello market, Notting Hill. Quick exit from London to Brighton, Bath, Oxford, etc. possible by our car or rail.

PREFERRED DESTINATIONS: San Francisco or close for Christmas week 2009
